Anglican Diocese of Assam

The Diocese of Assam was a diocese of the Church of England in North-East India.
The diocese was created from the Diocese of Calcutta in 1915.〔(Anglican History – A History of the Church of England in India – Chapter XXVI: The Diocese of Assam, 1915 )〕 Upon Indian independence in 1947, it became the Diocese of North India〔(Spero News – India: Suffering makes the Church grow )〕 in the Anglican Church of India, Pakistan, Burma and Ceylon, and it is now part of the united Church of North India.

*1915–1924: Herbert Pakenham-Walsh (1871–1959)
*1924–1945: George Hubback (1882–1955)
*1946–1948: Nirod Biswas
